I am Mimi Yamanaka (山中美実), A Netherlands-based illustrator born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.
After graduating from Tama Art University in Japan with a degree in oil painting, I worked as a project manager/planner in the commercial movie industry before relocating to Amsterdam in 2021.
I draw dusky, delicate and somewhat mysterious illustrations with a sense of storytelling. Good at depicting all kinds of motifs such as scenery, mechanics, old and young, men and women, and plants. I love to reveal cultural depth and beauty.
